Jumbo Pencils
The wider body is easier for small hands to control and encourages a whole-hand grip before a tripod one develops. The practical catch is sharpening: a standard sharpener will not take the barrel, so buy the matching one at the same time or the set is unusable within a week. Thicker cores also break less.
