This listing is a box of 6 Staedtler Mars Lumograph jumbo 100J-4B pencils: extra-thick 4B leads for bold, expressive tone across large drawings.
4B sits in the middle of the five jumbo degrees. It is noticeably darker than 2B, blends easily with a finger or stump, and still keeps enough firmness to hold an edge, so it works well for figure studies on newsprint, big composition roughs and loose tonal sketches.
The lead is about 5.3 mm across, per Staedtler, inside a wide barrel they call comfortable over long sessions. Their notes also mention smooth tonal transitions with a light metallic lustre and good break resistance when sharpening.
To keep a usable point, Staedtler suggest the 5134 double-hole tub sharpener; for corrections, the Mars plastic 526 50 eraser. Made in Germany, as stated by Staedtler.
