A Beechwood Spoon Sized for Saucepans
The Connoisseur 753472 wooden cooking spoon is 250 mm long and made from beechwood, a light tan stirring spoon for porridge, sauces and risotto in everyday saucepans.
At 250 mm it is the shorter of Weatherdon's two beechwood spoons. That length gives good control in a standard saucepan, where a longer spoon tends to tip out of the pan when you let go.
Wood stays cool to hold while you stir and does not ring against the side of a metal pot. The oval bowl is shallow enough to scrape the base of the pan, and the plain round handle is easy to grip with a cloth.
Weatherdon do not publish care or dishwasher advice for the spoon. Most cooks hand wash wooden utensils and let them dry fully before putting them away.
