Four Water Brushes, From Fine Line To Broad Wash
Staedtler 949-SBK4-C is a set of 4 water brushes: round fine, round medium, round large and a chisel, each with its own water barrel.
Fill the barrel with water, give it a gentle squeeze and water runs down to the brush. Staedtler describe an easy-to-squeeze barrel and valve system that controls the flow, and a durable nylon tip that holds its point. There is no jar to knock over, which is the appeal for sketching outdoors, on a train or at a crowded classroom table.
The four sizes cover most jobs. The fine round handles detail and lettering, medium and large spread colour over bigger areas, and the chisel lays flat strokes and crisp edges. Use them to blend watercolour pencils such as the Mars Lumograph aquarell or karat aquarell ranges, to lift colour from a paint pan, or to soften brush pen lines.
Our older photo shows the earlier Design Journey blister card; Staedtler's current pack is a box with the same four brushes.
