A Brush That Carries Its Own Water
Staedtler 949 BK-1-C is a single water brush on a hanging card: fill the clear barrel with water, squeeze, and the nylon tip stays wet while you paint or blend.
Staedtler make the 949 for watercolouring and painting. The easy-to-squeeze barrel and valve system lets you control how much water reaches the bristles, from a damp tip for softening a pencil line to a wetter stroke for a wash. The durable nylon brush tip holds its point, which helps with edges and small details.
A brush with a built-in reservoir is handy anywhere a water jar is a nuisance: on a train, in a park, at a crowded classroom table or on the couch. Pair it with watercolour pencils, a pan set or water-soluble markers, and wipe the tip on a tissue to change colour.
This card holds one brush. Staedtler also sell the 949 as a set of four brushes in different tip shapes, which suits painters who want a choice of stroke.
Pair it with watercolour pencils, watercolour paints, paint brushes and Staedtler.
