A Shimmer Of Purple For Cards And Lettering
Staedtler 8323-623 is the purple member of the metallic marker family, sold here as Staedtler's own box of 10 for classrooms, craft tables and card makers who go through them quickly.
Purple is a colour that holds its own on both white stock and black card, which is where these markers earn their place. Staedtler's own description is a fibre-tip metallic pen that covers opaquely whether the paper is pale or dark, and card takes it too, so a violet border on kraft paper or a name written across a dark envelope stays readable.
There is nothing to prime. Staedtler say no pumping or shaking is required: take the cap off and the rounded bullet tip is ready to write, drawing a line of roughly 1 to 2 mm. That width suits handwritten headings, outline lettering and fine scroll patterns rather than filling large areas.
Slips on a mirror or window are forgiving: a damp cloth lifts the ink from glass, according to Staedtler. Their Australian catalogue also lists dried FIMOair among the surfaces, handy for adding detail to air-dried clay pieces.
