Blue Metallic For Night Skies, Seascapes And Page Titles
Staedtler 8323-373 is the blue metallic shade of the 8323 metallic pen, sold as a box of 10 blue bullet tip pens.
Blue metallic sits well on black or deep navy card, where it reads as a cool shimmer rather than a flat colour. That makes it a favourite for star-filled night skies, ocean and river scenes, winter cards and scrapbook headings that need a colour other than gold or silver.
The rounded bullet tip lays down roughly 1 to 2mm, which is the figure Staedtler give. Coverage stays opaque whether the paper is pale or dark, they say, and card works too, with nothing to pump or shake first. The catalogue also lists dried FIMOair, so modelled pieces can be finished in the same blue as the card they sit on.
Staedtler's own name for this colour is 373 blue metallic. Marks on glass or mirrors can be removed with a damp cloth, Staedtler say, which is handy when a sample goes astray.
