A Bold Red Fountain Pen With A Medium Steel Nib
Staedtler 474 M02-3 puts the triplus premium fountain pen in roaring red, a deep matt red on a metal body, with a medium stainless steel nib.
A medium nib lays down a confident line that shows off handwriting, so this makes a good first metal fountain pen for a senior student, or for anyone taking up lettering and journaling. Staedtler's own lifestyle photo shows it on a notebook beside a hand-drawn lavender page, which is exactly the kind of slow, creative writing it suits.
The body and cap are full metal with the three-sided triplus profile. Fittings are polished silver metal, the nib is engraved with the Mars head, the cap top carries an embossed Mars head too, and STAEDTLER lettering rings the middle of the barrel. Staedtler include one standard blue ink cartridge.
It is packed in a hangable cardboard box, given by Staedtler as 180 x 47 x 15 mm, and Staedtler cite a Red Dot Design Award for the range in 2021. The red 444 M02-3 ballpoint matches it for a two-pen set.
