Two things settle it. Nib width sets the line, and a finer nib suits small handwriting and thin paper where a broad one feathers and bleeds through. Filling system is the practical constraint, since cartridge fittings are proprietary and a converter only fits the pens it was made for, so confirm compatibility before buying ink in quantity.
