Deep Wine Red For Headings And Romantic Script
Staedtler 375-23 is the bordeaux pigment calligraphy pen, and this listing brings ten of them.
Old manuscripts used red for rubrics, the headings and first letters that guide the reader, and bordeaux carries on that job with a softer, wine toned red. It is the colour Staedtler chose for their own 375 photos, where it writes flourished capitals, and it works as well for valentine and anniversary cards, wedding names, headings in a bullet journal or a quote picked out in red among black lines.
Staedtler give the chisel tip as approx. 2.0 mm, broad enough for clear contrast between downstrokes and hairlines. Multi Ink is a translucent pigment ink, so a second pass darkens the red, and once dry it is waterproof and will not smear under further colour, per Staedtler. Colour 23 also appears in the 371 brush pens, handy when a piece mixes chisel lettering with brush flourishes.
