Warm Metallic Gold From A Bullet Tip Paint Marker
Staedtler 349-11 is the gold colour of the Lumocolor paint marker 349, a pack of 10 acrylic markers with a bullet tip that writes a line of about 2.4mm.
Gold is the finishing colour. It goes on last, over a dried base coat or straight onto a dark or natural surface, to pick out a border, a name or a date. Kraft gift tags, wedding place cards on black stock, painted river stones, timber signs and glass jars are where it usually ends up. Because the paint is opaque, the gold keeps its tone on dark grounds rather than soaking in and turning brown the way a translucent ink can.
Staedtler class the 349 as a permanent, low-odour acrylic that is water-based, and give stone, timber, glass, ceramic, metal, plastic, card and paper as surfaces it suits. Once dry they list it as waterproof, lightfast and weatherproof. The marker is also DRY SAFE, which in Staedtler terms means it survives being left uncapped for days.
