Muted Nature Colours with a Graphite Edge
Staedtler tinted 146 10T M12 is a metal tin of 12 tinted watercolour pencils whose leads mix colour with a hint of graphite for soft, earthy results.
Staedtler describe two quite different effects from one pencil. Used dry, the colours are soft and subtle nature tones with a dark graphite character. Add water and they awaken into a rich, living intensity while still staying muted, which suits wildlife, landscapes and vintage-style illustration.
The lead is soft and intense in a high-quality watercolour pencil of classic hexagonal shape. The dark grey barrels carry the tinted name and a coloured end cap so each shade is easy to find in the tin. Staedtler Australia list it as Design Journey Tinted Graphite.
Sharpening: Staedtler name the Mars 510 25 double-hole model and the 512 002 tub.
