With 48 colours in a metal tin with two trays, Staedtler karat aquarell 125 M48 suits artists who paint often and want the subtle in-between shades ready to hand.
Staedtler position the karat aquarell as their high-quality watercolour pencil: a classic hexagonal pencil whose soft, colour-intensive lead gives delicate to strikingly luminous effects with water and a brush on watercolour paper, and stays bright when used dry.
At 48 colours the set moves beyond basic hues into tonal steps. The chart runs from several yellows and ochres through pinks, carmines and violets, a spread of blues and greens, and a run of browns and greys, which cuts down the layering needed to reach a particular shade.
The pencils sit in two stacked trays inside the tin, so every colour stays visible and in order while you work. Each silver barrel has an end cap in the lead colour and the print MADE IN GERMANY.
