Wider than the small one, so you can see the sentence coming
190 x 70mm. Seven colours. $6.00 each.
The medium guide shows more than a single line. That matters for readers who track fine within a line but lose the thread between lines - and for anyone reading for meaning rather than decoding, who needs to see where the sentence is going.
The tint is doing two jobs. It cuts the contrast between black ink and white paper, which is what causes glare and eye strain under classroom lighting, and it marks out the line you are on so your eye does not slide onto the one below. Different people find different colours easier - there is no single right one, which is why the range exists.
A note on the supplier's sizing. They give 190 x 70mm for both the medium and the large guide - the same figure for two different products. We have quoted their number, but we cannot tell you exactly how the two differ in size until they confirm it, and we have asked. If the exact dimensions matter to you, ask us before you order.
One honest caveat. Coloured overlays help some readers a great deal and do nothing for others. They are not a treatment for dyslexia and the supplier does not claim they are. Buy a couple of colours, let the reader pick, and keep the one that works.
Sturdy, flexible plastic. It lives in the book and comes out when the reading does.
