Rainbow Spectrum Board A3 Black is a 220gsm uncoated matte board, 100 sheets to a pack.
An A3 sheet frames an A4 drawing or photograph with a wide border and no cutting, which is why this size is what art departments order for assessment folios. Black is the mounting colour most often asked for on tonal work and on pale artwork that needs lifting away from a white wall.
The matte face is the reason to pick this board over a gloss black. A gloss mount throws light straight back at anyone looking at the piece and shows every handling mark on the way to the exhibition. At 220gsm it is a board weight rather than a heavy paper.
