The Small Yellow Note For Short Messages
The Post-it 653 is the mini member of the canary yellow family: a pad about the size of a business card, sold here as 12 pads of 100 sheets for 1200 notes in all.
A small sheet suits the jobs where a square note is more paper than the message needs. A phone number taken at reception, a three word reminder on a folder tab, a page reference stuck inside a manual or a price pencilled on a sample all fit comfortably, and the note covers less of whatever it is stuck to.
3M describe the adhesive as repositionable and say it will not mark paper and other surfaces, so a 653 can be lifted and moved as the task changes. Canary yellow is the classic Post-it colour, easy to spot against white paper and manila folders.
Twelve pads make this a sensible pack for a front desk, a shared stationery drawer or a small team that goes through notes steadily. The pack in our photo prints the pad size as 1 3/8 x 1 7/8 in (34.9 x 47.6mm); 3M's own value pack photo rounds it to 1.5 x 2 in (38 x 50mm). Both are the 653 pad.
