A Fountain Pen with No Shine at All
Parker 2127742 is the IM Achromatic fountain pen in matte black lacquer with black PVD trims, a stainless steel nib in a dark finish, and a medium point, so even the nib keeps to the all-black look.
Parker describe the IM as a sleek, tapered pen that feels naturally balanced in the hand, made for meetings, brainstorms and note-taking. On the Achromatic model the clip, cap band and end pieces are black PVD and the cap is lacquered, which gives a soft, even surface rather than a polished one.
In Parker's photos the nib has a dark finish to suit the trims. The stainless steel nib gives what Parker call a responsive and personal writing experience. The pen comes in a Parker gift box with a long blue QUINK ink cartridge, so it writes as soon as the cartridge is fitted. That makes it an easy first fountain pen for someone who likes a minimal desk.
