Powershred LX221: The 20 Sheet LX for Small Shared Offices
The Powershred LX221 is the largest of Fellowes' LX micro-cut models, taking 20 sheets per pass into a 30 litre bin, and Fellowes aim it at offices where three to five people share the shredder.
Its taller body holds more waste than the LX201 and LX211, which matters with micro-cut: each 2 x 12 mm, level P-5 particle is smaller than a cross cut piece, so a bigger bin means fewer stops to empty. A thicker 20 sheet pass also gets through a stack faster.
The controls run down the lid: the IntelliBAR efficiency meter, run time and bin full indicators. Fellowes' 100% Jam Proof system and SafeSense hand detection are built in, it powers down after two minutes idle, and it takes staples, paper clips and credit cards. Its warranty from Fellowes Australia is 2 years for the machine and 5 for the cutters. On run time, the manual says 20 minutes then a 15 minute cool down while one Fellowes data field says 25, so plan around 20.
