Powershred Shredder Oil: Cutter Care for Cross-Cut and Micro-Cut Machines
Fellowes Powershred shredder oil comes in a 355 ml squeeze bottle with an extended nozzle, for conditioning the cutters of Fellowes cross-cut, mini-cut, micro-cut and high security shredders.
Fellowes' manuals spell out why it matters: particle-cut shredders rely on oil to reach their rated performance, and a dry machine can lose sheet capacity, grow noisy and eventually stop. Their advice is to oil each time you empty the bin, or at least twice a month. The long nozzle lets you run oil along the paper entry rather than pouring it over the top of the machine.
On the Powershred 425Ci and 485Ci the same bottle fills the Auto-Oil reservoir, which then oils the cutters automatically. Fellowes warn against aerosol or petroleum based lubricants.
