The Zart Mixed Media Paper Book A5, supplier code PD008, is a 20 sheet compendium of papers and surfaces for recording ideas and testing wet and dry media, made for artists and students.
The Creative School Supply Company lists five surfaces. There are 8 sheets of handmade, hand pressed and sun dried 300gsm watercolour paper made from 100% recycled cotton rags. A white mill-made 180gsm wood pulp paper has a slight tooth. A cream 200gsm handmade paper is 100% cotton. The book also holds 2 sheets of burlap and 2 sheets of calico.
The supplier says the mix suits paints, pencils, pens, markers, stitchery, embellishments and collage. It describes the watercolour paper as highly absorbent with a medium tooth, and notes the burlap and calico can be used natural or prepared with gesso.
