Square cotton watercolour sheets with a soft deckle edge
Zart Handmade Watercolour Paper 30 x 30cm, supplier code PA708, is a pack of 10 square sheets of 300gsm handmade paper made from 100% recycled cotton, from The Creative School Supply Company.
The Creative School Supply Company makes these sheets from 100% recycled cotton. They are unsized, hand pressed and sun dried, with a natural irregular surface texture and a soft deckle edge. The paper is off-white with a rough tooth. The supplier describes it as durable and highly absorbent, so it is well suited to wet media such as watercolour, gouache and ink.
The 30 x 30cm square gives room for a full painting or a mixed media piece. The paper also takes collage and paper craft, and it can be stitched into. For drawing, the supplier points to larger materials such as pastels, crayons, oil pastels and Slicks, which glide over the pronounced tooth.
Round and smaller square sizes use the same paper. The supplier notes that the rough absorbent texture does not suit markers or fine pencils. Browse art paper and canvas, painting supplies, craft and art paper and Zart.
