A black gesso board for painting from a dark ground
The Zart Canvas Board 6 x 8 inch Black, supplier code CB096, is a pre-primed black gesso canvas board from The Creative School Supply Company, suitable for oil and acrylic paint.
The supplier describes this board simply as a pre-primed black gesso canvas board, suitable for oil and acrylic paint. Black boards are offered in two sizes, 6 x 8 and 10 x 12 inch, and this listing is the 6 x 8 inch board. White primed canvas boards in the same 6 x 8 inch size are listed separately.
A black gesso surface gives a dark starting ground in place of the usual white, so there is no need to paint a dark background before the main work. The compact 6 x 8 inch size suits small studies and practice pieces in oil or acrylic.
Step up to the 10 x 12 inch black board for a larger painting, or choose a white primed board in the same size. Browse canvas boards, painting supplies, art paper and canvas and the full Zart range.
