A long roll of soft wire for sculpture skeletons
Zart Armature Wire 1.5mm 175m, supplier code WG901, is a 16 gauge roll of soft aluminium armature wire from The Creative School Supply Company, approximately 175m long.
The supplier lists WG901 as a 16 gauge roll, 1.5mm x 175m long (approx.). The Creative School Supply Company describes the wire as very soft aluminium suited to construction, flexible and pliable, and easy to shape and form for armatures or model supports. It can be used for individual projects or group work.
A roll lets each piece be cut to the length a model needs. Build the skeleton first, then apply a more refined surface such as Magiclay or Modroc, as the supplier suggests. Wrap the wire around a dowel rod for coils or around pliers for rounded shapes.
The 3mm roll and the precut packs of 38cm lengths sit in the same range. Pair it with ArtRoc for the outer layer. Browse modelling clay, papier mache supplies, educational craft supplies and the Zart range.
