Brother QL-800 Professional Label Printer Black and Red

Print Black and Red Labels From Your Desk

The Brother QL-800 is a direct thermal desktop label printer that runs at up to 148 mm per second, roughly 93 address labels a minute, and prints in black and red as well as plain black.

It connects to a Windows PC or Mac by USB 2.0 and is driven from Brother's P-touch Editor software, so there is no keyboard or screen on the unit itself. DK rolls drop in on a built-in spool, and a full cut guillotine trims each label as it prints. Standard output is 300 by 300 dpi, with a high resolution mode that lifts this to 300 by 600 dpi.

Two colour printing needs the DK-22251 continuous roll, and the trade is worth knowing: black and red output drops to a maximum of 24 mm per second, about 15 labels a minute. For warning labels, name badges and anything that has to be noticed, that is usually a fair exchange.

What the QL-800 does not have is wireless. There is no Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Ethernet, and no printing without a computer. If you need those, the QL-820NWB is the same 62mm platform with an LCD. Both run the same Brother DK rolls, and the full QL range is here.
