Numeric '9' Side Tab Colour Coding Labels, 500 Per Roll
A roll of 500 brown numeric '9' side tab colour coding labels at 25 x 38mm, on polyester with a permanent adhesive, supplied on a roll in a dispenser box. 9 is one of the ten digit codes Avery makes for number based lateral filing.
Applied to the side tab of a lateral file, the digit reads from the drawer face with the file still in place. Avery gives each of the ten digits its own colour, so a file number becomes a sequence of colours on the shelf rather than something that has to be read one character at a time.
That is what makes a numeric system worth colour coding. Transposed digits are the most common filing error, and a file sitting in the wrong place shows up as a break in the colour sequence from across the room, before anyone pulls it out to check the number. No two digits share a colour, so there is no pair to confuse.
Brown is the colour Avery assigns to the digit 9, and it holds that colour across the side tab and top tab formats, so a file coded on both edges matches.
The facestock is polyester with a permanent adhesive, which stands up to the handling a working file takes and then an archive. The same digit is also available as a pack of 180 under Avery code 43349, a 25 x 42mm pack of 240 under Avery code 44537 and a top tab pack of 150 under Avery code 44209. It sits in our Avery side tab filing label range, alongside the wider Avery lateral filing label selection, our lateral filing label category and the full label supplies range.
