Signalling Labels
These say something rather than name something: checked, sold, priority, quarantined. Because the meaning lives entirely in the colour, an undocumented scheme becomes decoration within a month and a new starter cannot read the shelf. Write it down and keep the palette small enough to remember. Dispenser rolls beat sheets for speed. See label dots, multipurpose labels and label supplies.
