Gold aluminium wire that bends by hand into sculpture
Zart Gold Armature Wire, supplier code WGZ914, is a 25m roll of 3mm aluminium wire with a gold finish, made for sculpture frameworks, models and wire based art.
The Creative School Supply Company describes the wire as lightweight yet strong, non-corrosive, and easy to bend, cut and shape by hand. It names armatures for clay modelling, wire sculptures, mixed media and model making, and says the wire pairs well with clay, papier mache, textiles and other art materials.
As an internal support, the wire gives clay and papier mache figures a framework to build on. The gold finish means it can also be the artwork itself, with the supplier suggesting it as a decorative feature, so students can explore structure, form and movement in 3D work.
Bend a simple figure frame by hand, then build the clay or papier mache up over it. Explore craft modelling clay, art and craft supplies, classroom supplies and the Zart range.
