Loud yellow lettering, fifteen millimetres at a time
The Uni PWE-17K in fluorescent yellow pairs the widest nib in the uni Chalk family, a 15mm chisel, with the brightest colour, for window and board wording that has to be noticed.
A sale banner or a half price sticker is usually read from the footpath, not up close. A thick fluoro stroke gives a shop window a headline that holds its own against the display behind it, and the chisel edge lets you swap between a heavy downstroke and a thinner side line without changing pens. Uni UK pitch the PWE-17K at extra large drawings and bold, out-sized hand lettering, which is exactly where a yellow this bright belongs.
According to uni, the ink will not wash off in the rain but does come off with a damp cloth, and it is meant for glass, windows, mirrors, metal and chalkboards. Porous surfaces are out. Uni UK class it as a water-based paint pen with a polyester chisel tip, not refillable and not smudge resistant.
For the wording underneath the headline, look through the liquid chalk markers. Related ideas sit in retail signs, display and signage and retail shop supplies.
