Read stream turbidity where a Secchi disk will not work
The Educational Vantage Turbidity Tube 60.5cm, supplier code SER1103018, is a clear polycarbonate tube with NTU measure markings, made for measuring the turbidity of water in streams.
Educational Vantage lists the tube at 60.5cm long once assembled, and it comes in two parts. The measure markings are in NTU and run across a range of 10 to 400. The supplier recommends the tube for measuring turbidity in streams where a Secchi disk cannot be used, which suits school water quality fieldwork.
The tube is clear polycarbonate with a 2.5cm diameter and carries NTU measure markings. Educational Vantage notes a logo design on the bottom of the tube for visual checks. The two parts join to give the full 60.5cm assembled length, ready for readings at a stream site during a fieldwork lesson.
Combine it with beakers for collecting samples and a hand lens for close looks at the water. See our science and STEM range, the wider educational supplies catalogue and teacher resources for lesson planning.
