Mars Lumograph Digital, A Blue Hexagonal EMR Stylus
Staedtler's Mars Lumograph digital 180 22-3 is an EMR stylus pencil in the blue hexagonal style of the Mars Lumograph drawing pencil, with a 0.7mm point and 4,096 pressure levels.
It works on screens with an electromagnetic resonance (EMR) digitiser, the Wacom technology inside devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S range, reMarkable 2 and Kindle Scribe. The stylus takes its energy from the screen, so there is no battery to charge and nothing to pair. Staedtler's FAQ is clear that it does not work on Apple devices or Pixelbooks.
For drawing, the pressure levels let line weight follow how hard you press, in apps that support it, and palm rejection means a resting hand is ignored. The hexagonal barrel gives the grip of a classic sketching pencil, so moving between paper and screen feels familiar.
The box holds the stylus, 5 replacement nibs and a nib tool. Staedtler state it is made in Germany.
