Staedtler 977 501 is the Mars professional metric circles template, a green transparent sheet with 41 circular openings from 2 mm up to 34 mm.
Small sizes step finely: from 2 mm to 10 mm the circles go up in 0.5 mm increments, then from 11 mm to 34 mm in 1 mm increments. That spread covers the holes, bolt circles, symbols and node markers that turn up in engineering, electrical and architectural drawings, plus bullet points and dots in graphic layouts.
The sheet is cut from 0.8 mm green transparent plastic that Staedtler call dimensionally stable, with a matte finish on one side to cut glare. Built-in inking risers hold it off the paper so ink does not creep underneath, and centring lines are printed around the openings for lining up on a centre mark. Staedtler's catalogue says the openings are sized for a 0.5 mm pencil lead, so pair it with a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil.
