Twelve Tubes Of Watercolour To Start With
Staedtler 8880 C12 is a cardboard box of 12 watercolour paints in assorted colours, supplied as 12 ml tubes, 144 ml of paint in all as printed on the box.
Tubes rather than pans: you squeeze out only what you need onto a palette and mix from there. Staedtler call the 8880 highly pigmented with brilliant colours, and suggest it for fine art and craft work on watercolour paper or board. Brushes clean up easily with water, they add.
The box of 12 gives a working palette of primaries, earths and black with white for tinting, enough for mixing most colours. Staedtler make the 8880 in 24 colours, so the 8880 C24 box is the next step when you want more ready-mixed shades.
You will need a palette, brushes and proper watercolour paper. Copy paper is too thin for washes.
