A Lidded Paint Box With Its Own Palette
Staedtler Noris 888 NC12 is a paint box of 12 watercolour pots with one tube of opaque white and a brush, in a case whose lid doubles as a mixing palette.
The paints sit in 12 round pots that Staedtler call interchangeable, so a used-up colour can be swapped rather than the whole box replaced. Staedtler describe the colours as brilliant with high covering capacity, and say all of them can be mixed with one another.
Open the blue and white case and the lid has three wells for mixing, while a slot along the tray holds the brush and the tube of opaque white for lightening colours and adding highlights. It is a tidy, self-contained set for a desk, an art room shelf or a school bag.
Staedtler state the 888 is made in Germany and conforms to EN 71, the European toy safety standard. Paper matters too: use watercolour or cartridge paper heavy enough to take a wet brush.
