A Clear Gloss Coat For Finished FIMO Pieces
FIMO 8703 01 BK is Staedtler's water-based gloss varnish in a 10 ml bottle with a brush built into the cap, and this listing is 5 blister cards.
Varnish is the last step after baking or drying. Staedtler say it adds a glossy sheen and protects FIMO creations, dries transparent and is lightfast. Their catalogue adds that it is scratch resistant, odourless and touch dry in 20 minutes, and that it suits both oven-bake FIMO and air-drying FIMOair.
The 10 ml size is made for small work: beads, charms, earrings and figurine details. Because the brush lives in the cap, there is nothing separate to clean or lose between coats. For larger pieces, the 35 ml 8704 01 BK jar holds more, and the 8705 01 BK is the semi-gloss alternative.
On galaxy and metallic FIMO effect clays, Staedtler note that varnishing brings out a deeper brilliance. Staedtler state the varnish is made in Germany.
