A Quick Clay Cactus With A Big Smile
FIMO kids 8035 13 is a small funny kit from Staedtler: a blister card holding two 42 g blocks of soft oven-bake clay, one green and one brown, for modelling a cheerful potted cactus.
The funny kits are built around simple shapes, so a child can finish a figure in one sitting. Going by the picture guide on the card, the brown block becomes the pot, the green is rolled into rounded cactus pads, and tiny brown dots are pressed on as spines before a smile is added.
Staedtler say the kits are quick and easy to make and use their particularly soft modelling clay, which helps younger modellers who find firmer clay hard work. The card prints the baking guide of 110°C for 30 minutes, so the cactus can be hardened in a home oven and kept on a desk or windowsill.
More small projects are in our FIMO collection and educational craft supplies, with extra blocks under modelling clay.
