A Glittering Mermaid And Her Dolphin
FIMO kids form and play Mermaid 8034 12 LZ is a Staedtler set for modelling a pink-haired mermaid with a turquoise tail, a dolphin and small sea treasures, then posing them on an underwater backdrop.
Two of the four clay blocks have glitter mixed through, glitter silver and glitter pink, so the dolphin and tail scales shimmer without paint. The others are turquoise and pale pink, 42 g each.
Fine work suits this theme: curling strands of hair, pressing scales into a tail with the modelling stick, shaping a starfish from five small points. The illustrated booklet sets out each stage, and the extra templates and stickers dress the reef.
With the oven at 110°C and 30 minutes on the timer, the mermaid firms up and is ready for the reef. Staedtler suggest the set for children 8 and older, used with an adult watching.
