Model The Family Pets, Then Play House
The FIMO kids form and play Pet set, Staedtler article 8034 02 LZ, lets a child sculpt a spotted dog, a sleepy orange cat and a brown rabbit, then arrange them in a cardboard lounge room with bowls and a carrot.
Pets are the animals children know best, so this theme tends to spark role play: feeding time, a vet visit, a new puppy. Staedtler list role-playing games among the things these sets encourage, alongside imagination and fine motor control.
Inside are 42 g blocks in white, orange, brown and black, a modelling stick for details like whiskers and paw lines, an illustrated instruction booklet, templates, stickers and the play backdrop. FIMO kids clay is very soft, so small fingers can roll and pinch it without a struggle.
Finished pets need half an hour at 110°C to firm up, with a parent looking after the oven. Staedtler mark the box for ages 8 and up.
