Six Core Colours To Start Mixing
FIMO kids colour pack Basic 8032 01 gives children six 42 g blocks of soft, oven-hardening FIMO kids clay in white, yellow, red, blue, green and black, the core shades for making and mixing their own colours.
Staedtler made FIMO kids with children in mind: very soft to knead and shape, with a pleasant feel and no smell, according to their catalogue. Each block is divided into 8 portions, so it is easy to break off a piece and blend it with another colour. Red and yellow make orange, blue and yellow make green, and a touch of white softens any shade.
Finished models firm up in a domestic oven, which Staedtler say should be at 110°C, for 30 minutes. Staedtler recommend FIMO kids for children 8+ years, and a grown-up should handle the baking.
The pack reseals, which keeps leftovers tidy between sessions. Single colours are sold separately when one runs out.
