Red FIMO kids Clay For Small Makers
FIMO kids 8030-2 is a 42 g block of red oven-hardening modelling clay that Staedtler made specifically for children, soft enough to shape without a long warm-up.
Red is the shade young modellers grab first: ladybirds, strawberries, fire engines, toadstool caps and the grin on a monster. The block is scored into 8 portions, so one segment can be snapped away for a ladybird while the remainder stays wrapped.
Finished pieces go into a home oven at 110°C for 30 minutes, the setting printed on the pack, and come out hard enough to keep. Staedtler's 2024 Australian catalogue recommends FIMO kids for children 8+ years, and Staedtler state the clay conforms to EN 71.
A red portion worked together with white gives pink, and with yellow gives orange, so one red block goes further alongside a couple of other colours.
