Make Leather-Look Tassels From Clay
FIMO leather effect 8015 DIY2 is a Staedtler starter kit for clay tassels: four 25 g half blocks of leather effect clay, a 70 cm elastic band, 10 split rings and step-by-step instructions.
The kit is a simple first project that shows off what leather effect clay does. Rolled thin, cut into fringes and baked, the clay comes out with a surface and feel close to leather and stays flexible enough to roll into a tassel. Add a few clay beads and a split ring and you have a key ring or a bag charm like the ones on the box.
The clay colours are saffron yellow, indigo, berry and black, 100 g in total. Staedtler aim the kit at beginners and hobby artists, and point to a video tutorial as well as the printed steps. Bake at 130°C for 30 minutes, as shown on the box.
