An Earthy Olive Green With A Leather Look
FIMO leather effect 8010-519 is Staedtler's olive leather effect clay, a 57 g oven-bake block that hardens to a finish resembling leather.
Olive is a muted, earthy green that works well for natural, outdoorsy designs: leaf-shaped earrings, a stitched plant pot sleeve, cord wraps, keyrings and bookmarks. Next to ochre, rust and dove grey it builds a calm, autumn-toned palette.
What sets the range apart is the baked result. According to Staedtler, thin pieces can still be bent, braided and stitched after hardening, so the clay can be treated a little like a sheet of leather once it is out of the oven. The block is smooth, splits into 8 portions and needs 130°C for 30 minutes according to the pack.
