A Slim Metal-Tipped 0.7 mm Pencil, Ten To A Box
Staedtler graphite 778 07-9 is a 0.7 mm mechanical pencil with a slim black hexagonal barrel, supplied in Staedtler's box of 10.
The 778 is a plain, tidy office pencil. Staedtler give it a slim hexagonal barrel with a matt finish, a metal tip and a metal clip, and a cushioned lead that gives a little under pressure instead of snapping. The 0.7 mm width writes a slightly bolder line than 0.5 mm and stands up better to a heavy hand.
Twist the pusher cap to wind out the built-in rotary eraser for small corrections, and retract the lead tube when the pencil goes in a shirt pocket or diary loop so it does not poke through. Refilling is simple: any 0.7 mm lead loads through the top.
A box of 10 suits a team, a reception desk or a classroom set. Stock up on Mars micro carbon 0.7 mm leads in HB, 2B or 2H to match how each person writes.
