An A3 Drafting Station That Packs Away
The Staedtler Mars 661 A3 is a portable A3 drawing board with a parallel drafting arm that runs on a twin rail, giving square, parallel lines without a full drafting table.
The drafting arm carries a double-sided scale and slides along the rail with an even glide. A single-hand double locking mechanism fixes it at any point, and a colour indicator shows at a glance whether it is locked or free. Paper is held flat by clamping strips on both sides of the board, so there is no tape to peel off a finished sheet. A needle hole in the scale lets you set a compass radius directly from the board.
Staedtler build the board from sturdy, break-resistant plastic and fit it with non-slip rubber feet, and state that it is made in Germany. It suits design and technology students, apprentices, architecture and engineering courses, and anyone sketching plans at a home desk.
Adding the Mars 660 20 drafting head turns the board into a protractor-based setup for angled work.
