Staedtler 61 3001-2 is the Handlettering x Watercolour mixed set from the Design Journey range, eleven pieces that take a lettering piece from pencil guideline to painted background.
The box follows the order the work is done in. A Mars Lumograph 2B pencil sketches the baselines, which the art eraser lifts once the ink is down. Six double-ended watercolour brush pens in greens, blues and grey carry the colour, and the water brush 949 pulls that colour out into soft washes. A pigment liner 308 and a metallic brush pen 8321 then add outlines, shadows and a final accent to the lettering.
Staedtler describe the 3001 pens as watercolour fibre-tip pens with a brush tip that works on most watercolour papers, and list the set as water-soluble. The hangable box has a window so the contents can be seen on the shelf, and Staedtler give it a gift box character, so it works as a present for someone starting out in hand lettering. Paper is not included.
