Staedtler 5427 is the kneadable art eraser, and this listing is Staedtler's counter display of 18.
Each eraser is a soft grey block, 40 x 40 x 11 mm, that Staedtler describe as particularly easy to knead, extremely pliable, highly absorbent, smooth and soft. Rather than rubbing, you press or dab it on the drawing and it lifts pastel, charcoal and graphite away cleanly and without smudging.
That makes it a correction and lightening tool more than a rubber. Artists use it to knock back a charcoal tone, pull highlights out of graphite shading, or clean the edge of a pastel study. Staedtler also say it suits cleaning artwork and film, and that the block shape allows different widths of erasing area.
Staedtler list it as PVC free and free of latex and phthalates. The display box suits an art shop counter, a TAFE store or an art department stocking a whole class.
