The Understated Dark Grey Triplus Premium Ballpoint
Staedtler 444 M09-3 is the antique anthracite version of the triplus premium retractable ballpoint, a matt dark grey metal pen for people who would rather not carry a bright colour.
Anthracite looks close to black in most light and sits quietly with a suit, a leather folio or a plain notebook. The contrast comes from the trim: clip, push button and tip cone in high polished silver, a STAEDTLER band around the upper ring and the Mars head emblem on the button.
The body is full metal and three-sided, the triplus shape Staedtler call ergonomic, and the tip retracts with a press of the button so it can ride in a shirt pocket without marking it. It writes in blue from an interchangeable large capacity G2 refill, line width M, with ink Staedtler state is indelible to ISO 12757-2. That makes it a sound everyday pen for site notes, meetings and signing off drawings.
