A Heavy Blue Line In A Three-Sided Staedtler Barrel
Staedtler 437 XB-3 gives you 10 triplus ball ballpoints in blue, each writing the extra broad (XB) line that is the boldest in the 437 family.
Plenty of offices ask for signatures in blue so a signed original can be told apart from a black and white photocopy, and a broad blue line makes that difference obvious. The same thick stroke suits greeting cards, name tents, noticeboard notes and anything written to be read from across a desk.
Staedtler shape the barrel as a triangle, which they say gives an ergonomic hold for relaxed and easy writing, and they rate the pen as particularly smooth. Under the ventilated cap is a conical metal tip. According to Staedtler the ink is quick drying and avoids smudges, including when a highlighter is run over it, and the pen is built to be airplane-safe through automatic pressure equalisation.
