Deep Cool Grey For Core Shadows And Night Scenes
Ten Staedtler 372-871 pigment soft brush pens in cool grey dark come in this pack listing, the darkest of the cool greys before intense black.
Dark cool grey puts weight into a drawing without the full stop of black. Use it for the core shadow on a rounded form, the gap under a door, storm clouds, wet roads at night and the darkest folds in fabric. In lettering it works as a drop shadow that sits behind black or coloured words instead of competing with them. The soft brush tip swings from a hairline to a wide stroke with pressure, which helps when a shadow needs to taper away.
Staedtler fill every Pigment Arts pen with Multi Ink, a pigment India ink they describe as quick-drying, waterproof, permanent and highly lightfast. Once dry, it can be drawn over again without smudging, so highlights and details added later stay clean.
