The Lumocolor Black That Stands Up To Light And Weather
Staedtler 318-9 is the black Lumocolor permanent pen with the fine 0.6 mm F tip, supplied as a box of 10.
Black is the one Lumocolor colour Staedtler rate as lightfast, and their catalogue also calls the black weatherproof. That makes the 318-9 the pick for labels that live outdoors or near windows: plant tags, meter boxes, toolboxes in a ute, signage on plastic sheet.
Like the rest of the range it is a universal pen for almost all surfaces, smudge-proof and waterproof on almost all of them, quick-drying and low in odour. The fine tip gives crisp small lettering on cable tags, CDs, sample bags and drawings.
Staedtler make it in Germany, with DRY SAFE ink that survives days uncapped, a locked tip and a PP barrel and cap. A Staedtler refill station, 487 17, can top it up.
