Fine Blue Permanent Marking, Ten At A Time
Staedtler 318-3 is the blue Lumocolor permanent pen with the fine F tip, about 0.6 mm, sold here as a box of 10.
Blue is the usual second colour in a marking system: it separates checked items from new ones, codes a second shift or client, and reads clearly on white labels without the urgency of red. A box of ten keeps a team or a lab bench stocked.
Staedtler sell Lumocolor permanent as a universal pen: paper, overhead film, glass, metal and plastic all take it. The ink, they say, will not smudge or wash off on nearly any of those materials, sets within seconds, smells little and tolerates days without its cap.
The barrel and cap are PP, the tip is locked against heavy pressure and Staedtler give Germany as the country of manufacture. Staedtler state lightfastness for black only, so choose the 318-9 where labels face strong sun.
